Within our wider curriculum, the children are coming towards the end of their current History unit. Our young historians have become experts in their studied areas, developing impressive knowledge and developing their awareness of the past on a local and national scale. Y4 are looking forward to enhancing their learning about Roman Britain even further on Monday when they spend the day in Chester!
As we approach the holidays, we invite children to consolidate their learning further in a creative way over the half-term break, by producing something inspired by their history topic. Further details will follow in a letter next week.
A huge well done to our learners from The Pad who have worked collaboratively to design, make and sell a great selection of badges recently. They have used this experience to gain real-life experience of the world of business. Watch out Sir Alan Sugar!
Remember to check out a selection of this week’s learning on our Instagram page (@floweryfieldprimary), and the Facebook page.
Our children are looking forward to our upcoming Arts Week. Please can we ask all children to bring an old shirt or oversized t shirt to ensure their uniform remains sparkling clean.
On Wednesday, our Flowery Friends team will be holding their Spooky Soiree event. At parent’s request we have a range of fun activities taking place, to keep your little people entertained including Witch’s Hat activity, Pin the smile on the Pumpkin, Halloween Crafts and lots more! There are still a few tickets remaining for the late session, these need to be booked through Pembee. Ticket sales close at 9pm on Sunday.
Following the half term break, our after-school clubs will continue. These continue to take place until the end of November. We still have a few places remaining for our wrap around fun which operates between 7 30 and 5 30. Please speak with the office if you would like to reserve a regular place. On the run up to Christmas, we are also able to offer ad hoc places, but children must be registered, and places will need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
Following the half term break, we will be holding our termly parents’ evening, this takes place on Wednesday 12th November. This will be a face-to-face event to enable you to speak with your child’s teacher and review your child’s progress. Appointments will be booked through the MCAS app from Monday.
Finally, we would like to send our best wishes to all those families celebrating Diwali on Monday.
Wishing you an enjoyable and relaxing weekend.
Mrs Claire Silk
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - ONLINE SAFETY
Whatever the age of your child they will receive good online safety education in school, from early years through to college. But as parents and carers you need to know about and keep up with the risks and issues our children may face online. Importantly, we also need to know where to go for extra support. Over the next few weeks we will be continuing to share some online training for our parents/carers. Today we’ll take a brief look at what children and young people are doing online and why.
