FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Week – 05.12.25
Well done to all!
Firstly, I would like to thank our Flowery Friends Team for our Winter Wonderland Event. Our team of volunteers have worked tirelessly, sourcing materials, planning craft events, selling tickets, advertising and much more. I am sure you will all agree that the event was a huge success! I know how much the children, volunteers and staff loved the snow globe!
This week our assemblies have focused on ‘giving’. We have asked the children to replace their Christmas lists with the gifts they would give Santa. The children have spoken about thankfulness, patience, kindness and respect and discussed how they can show these in the lead up to Christmas. All children should have brought home a Christmas Star to help light up our school with their acts of kindness. Children in 3JP have already presented Santa with a stocking filled with all their acts of kindness. During advent, we are also collecting food donations for sandwich angels and monetary donations for our partner school in Uganda. Following your donations from our Big Run in the summer, the school now has running water and access to technology. We are hoping to help send a container over with supplies to support their early reading and number work. Please mark any donations and send them in to the school office.
As we approach the Christmas break, we are aware that many families are completing their festive shopping. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that whilst shopping online, you can support our school farm without costing you any extra!!! We are excited to announce that work on our early years garden is due to start on Monday. We are enhancing provision for our reception children but are also adding a trim trail for our older pupils to benefit too. Unfortunately, this work will impact on morning and drop off routines. Please can we ask families to enter the school site via the Y2/3 playground to help ease congestion within the nursery garden.
Over the next few weeks all children will be participating in a range of festive events. Please can we remind families that children are welcome to wear party clothes on their Christmas dinner day, party day and the last day of term.
Finally, I would like to announce that Mrs Barton is leaving us at the end of the term to take up a new appointment. Mrs Barton has made a huge difference during her time with us. On behalf of the Flowery community, I would like to thank her for her incredible commitment and wish her well in her future role. We are fortunate to have secured Mrs Slinn who will be teaching the class as we search for a replacement. Mrs Adams will continue to support the class and Mrs Pearson will be overseeing and supporting transition.
Wishing you a lovely weekend
Mrs Silk
